In this class you will learn how to make a basic blacksmiths knife (also known as a Viking knife). When made well they function well as a harvesting or basic carving knife, and by those who know more about such things than me I'm told a good skinning knife. Time permitting I will show a few customizations you can make to the base template. The knife should be ready to cut if not a finished sharpness by the end of class.
This is a beginner class and while not required it is recommended that you take a basics class first. Eye and ear protection are required as are closed toed shoes. Long sleeves and pants are recommended (you do still have to wear a shirt and some kind of shorts if you don’t) it is also recommended that you wear a non synthetic fabric and in general clothes you don’t mind getting holes in.
