In this three session class you will learn how to use the MAC darkroom to develop black and white film, how to print some of the pictures, and some basic image manipulation techniques.
We will use traditional photographic technology, including 35 mm film cameras, enlargers, and chemicals to capture images and print them.
Supplies—film, printing paper and the chemicals for developing film and paper—are included in the class tuition fee of $150.
Bring your own 35 mm camera or borrow one of ours. If you plan to use your own camera, please verify that it’s in good working condition and has a new battery. Cameraworks at Union and Academy will do a free check of the shutter and light meter.
The curriculum is flexible, and can be modified depending on student background and interests. Please contact the instructor in advance of the class so we can get our expectations synchronized!
