Session 1----Begin with shibori stitching fundamentals of cultural significance, needle and thread use, the application of specific knots for anchoring and tying up stitches, plus the basics of the indigo pigment dyeing process. This session includes multiple options for planning designs on fabric using a variety of templates.
Session 2----After four weeks to complete projects, students will immerse their stitched creations into vats of indigo pigment. The excitement will be hard to contain once your stitched projects are dyed, cleaned, and the stitches removed. It’s show and tell time!
This is a “no experience required” experience!
